VIDEO: The sweet smell of peanut brittle and cinnamon rolls filled Three Lakes on Saturday as the Three Lakes Fire Department Auxiliary hosted its annual Pumpkin Fest. Linda Remington helped start the event 24 years ago and has remained dedicated to giving back to the community. "It's an incredible feeling," said Remington. After a series of fires 24 years ago, Remington realized the Three Lakes Fire Department needed more support from its community. She helped create the Auxiliary to fill that need. The Auxiliary provides extra assistance to the department. In that spirit, it created a rehab van to provide firefighters with food and water after big fires. The money raised at Pumpkin Fest helps the Auxiliary provide the needed assistance for the department. "We want to do the best we can, and get the most," said Remington.
