The Delafield Fire Department opened its doors to the community Saturday to really give an up-close look at how everything works. The organizer of the open house is Nick Stacey. The firefighter and his 3-year old son, Brayden, are battling brain tumors. Stacey said he wanted to make sure his son, and the community that's supporting them, could see the station. He said doesn't just belong to the department, it belongs to the community. "It's still all about the community, but for me, it took on a whole special meaning because the fire department's his life. He (Brayden) loves it, you know?" Stacey said. "We come up here as much as possible. He can turn on the lights on every one of these trucks just as well as I can or any other firefighter here, so it was very important for me to get this together."
