VIDEO: The State Fire Marshal is expected to arrive in downtown Clintonville this morning to help investigate a fire that injured three people late Wednesday. Fire gutted two apartments above Doesn’t Compute, a computer store, and Main Street Tattoos, at 49 S. Main Street. The fire department says a man and a woman who were in the apartments were airlifted to a Milwaukee hospital. We don’t know any more about their injuries or their conditions. A firefighter was treated at the scene. Clintonville’s assistant fire chief says the firefighter had some trouble catching his breath, but “he is fine.” Witness Brenda Mehlberg described the chaotic scene. “We saw the fire men running to the barn to get the fire trucks and we noticed they didn’t go very far. We came outside, looked, and flames were shooting out of the roof,” Mehlberg said. “It looked like the whole roof had flames shooting out of it, a lot of smoke.” Fire crews were called at 8:20 p.m. Dispatchers for both the city and county say the call was to Cindy B’s Bar, which is next door. The bar wasn’t damaged.
