VIDEO: Minocqua will soon see a new home base for its fire department. The Minocqua fire chief, town board members, and architects all took part in breaking ground for the new station. The new building will be next to the Minocqua Area Chamber of Commerce on Highway 51. Fire Chief Andy Petrowski says this new station will not only give the department the space it needs but will help its response time as well. "Now is the time, you know, these trucks we're buying are getting bigger and bigger," Petrowski said.
