Fitchburg firefighters said no one was hurt during a fire early Tuesday. Firefighters said a compressor for one of the machines used at a manufacturing plant for the Placon Corporation exploded Tuesday morning, causing a fire. The building's sprinklers were able to put the fire out before causing any real damage. Some work inside of the plant has been suspended until officials can determine what caused the explosion.
