District 4 Alder and City Council President Al Guyant, who opposes an expansion of 24/7 westside fire service, has been nominated to the Sun Prairie Fire Advisory Committee. Guyant edged out fellow District 4 Alder Mary Polenske, a supporter of adding night time firefighters to the Westside Community Service Building as soon as possible, on a 5-3 vote. Guyant accepted the nomination after the Aug. 22 Committee of the Whole vote, saying he’ll focus on fire department budget and operations.
