One person was injured and several were displaced after a residential fire near downtown Janesville on Wednesday morning, authorities said. Janesville Fire Department Battalion Chief Chris Lukas said one adult male was taken to an area hospital after a fire broke out in the second story of an apartment building at 203 E. Holmes St. at about 8:40 a.m. Wednesday. The extent of the man's injuries wasn't immediately clear. At least five adults and one child were displaced by the fire, Lukas said. The fire appears to have started in the southwest bedroom of the second story in the apartment, Lukas said.
