VIDEO: A vote on a proposed ordinance to charge non-taxpayers for fire and rescue service calls in Altoona is postponed. Under the ordinance, a charge for service would be given to non-tax paying entities for calls provided by the City of Altoona Fire and Rescue Department. Fire Chief Mark Renderman said the proposal is because of a growing number of calls for service. During Thursday's meeting, council members expressed the need to set a monetary threshold for charges. The council plans to revisit the ordinance at its January 11 meeting.
