Ongoing negotiations regarding the purchase of property that would be home to a new Eau Claire fire station have delayed the proposed timeline for that project. City officials continue to negotiate the possible purchase of two adjacent lots at the intersection of Birch Street and Malden Avenue on Eau Claire’s north side. The city first contacted the owner, Agnes Smith, about six months ago and have negotiated for the past couple of months, but so far no deal has been reached. One of the lots is 5 acres, and the other is less than half an acre.
