An early Wednesday morning fire that appears to have started from a gas grill, on a deck being left on, has resulted in between $115,000 and $130,000 damage to a single-family home at 210 S. Pontiac Drive, said Janesville Fire Department Battalion Chief Chris Lukas. Homeowners grilled out about 6 p.m. The origin of the fire appears to be in that vicinity, he said. The fire was reported at 4:37 a.m. by homeowners Jeff and Carol Fullman, who had evacuated the home with their two dogs by the time firefighters arrived, Lukas said. No other injuries were reported, he said. The fire caused “extensive damage” to the exterior rear of the house and extended into the attic. There also was smoke and water damage to the interior of the house, Lukas said.
