Barn 23, a well-known Dodgeville landmark is destroyed after a fire last night leaving fire crews investigating and many reminiscing on what was once a popular bar and restaurant. "It really gets ya thinking,” said Thomas Davies. "When I was a youngster in grade school, this was a dairy farm and they had dairy cattle. They milked cows and my classmate lived on this farm." It was a building with history dating back before any of us were born. "The age of this building, my understanding is over 100 years old," said Dodgeville Fire Chief Brian Whitehouse. Fire crews said at this point, why it went up in flames is still a question. "Anything is possible we're pursuing all avenues. There's nothing obvious at this point to lead us one way or the other," said Whitehouse. "People will really miss it because it was just a good place to go," said Davies. Dodgeville fire crews worked overnight to make sure the fire was contained. The Iowa County Fire Investigation Team will take over the investigation at this point.
