The former fire chief of the Eldorado Fire Department was found dead at the fire station early Tuesday morning. An Eldorado firefighter and plow driver came into the fire station on Fond du Lac County N shortly before 2 a.m. Tuesday to get a head start on the day’s work when he found Rodney Menne, the first assistant chief of the Eldorado Fire Department, dead, said Sgt. Jeff Bonack of the Fond du Lac Sheriff’s Office. The cause of his death is not suspicious in any way but has yet to be determined. “We all knew him,” Bonack said of Menne.
