A woman who was able to get out of her car after it went into the Rock River in Janesville was rescued from the water by firefighters. The incident happened at about 6:50 p.m. Tuesday in the 3300 block of South River Road in the town of Rock, the Janesville Fire Department said. "When units arrived on scene the lone occupant was out of her car, floating down river," said Battalion Chief Ron Bomkamp of the fire department. The Rock River is above flood stage so it was too difficult for a shore rescue to be staged, resulting in the department's dive rescue boat being deployed.
