It’s that time of year again where individuals of ages and skill levels take to the water for sport or to cool off from the heat of the summer sun. Sauk Prairie area emergency services are prepared to handle most any water-related incident or rescue, thanks to a variety of equipment and personnel training. According to 2015 statistics from the Department of Natural Resources, there were 21 reported water-related deaths. In many instances, the victim had alcohol in their system. In other cases, the victim left the boat they were in either voluntarily or involuntarily.
