Fox River at record high level as torrential rains hit Racine County

PHOTO: The City of Burlington and Racine County each declared a state of emergency Wednesday morning. More than a dozen roads closed due to nearly 7 inches of rain that fell between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning in some parts of the county. The worst flooding was seen on the county’s west end. By 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Fox River in Burlington was at an all- time high at 15.5 feet, according to the National Weather Service. The previous record was 13.5 feet set in 2008.
