One person was found dead when firefighters responded to a house fire in Beloit early Thursday morning. According to the Beloit Police Department, crews responded to a home in the 2500 block of Shopiere Road just after 5:30 a.m. Police said there was a fire found in the basement level of the house. Fire crews entered the home and found a person in the house with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
