A vehicle fire that spread to a garage caused thousands of dollars in damage to a west Madison home Thursday, officials said. The Madison Fire Department said crews responded to a report of a fire at 12:18 p.m. in the 2900 block of Maple Run Drive. An SUV that was on fire was close to the home, and when crews arrived, they found the fire had spread to the attached garage. Firefighters extinguished the fire on the exterior of the garage and the SUV within 16 minutes.
