An 18-year-old Manitowoc man was arrested early Saturday morning after biting and spitting on police officers and emergency personnel in an ambulance, a Manitowoc police press release said. According to the release, police responded to a call at 3:41 a.m. Saturday of an 18-year-old man "acting irrationally" and possibly under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The release said the man was uncooperative with officers and was detained for his safety and the safety of others.
