In the last six months, two of 70-year-old Kathleen Kauppi’s homes have been destroyed by fire. This weekend, it almost became number three. On Tuesday, Kauppi was charged with attempted arson, accused of using gasoline to start a fire in the Pleasant Prairie home of a relative who had taken her in. According to the criminal complaint, Pleasant Prairie Police were called to the home at 11511 Sheridan Road for a fire at 11:40 p.m. Sunday. When they arrived, police found a couch in the driveway that smelled strongly of gasoline.
