Beginning Monday,July 3, the North Fond du Lac Fire Department will be providing ambulance transportation for patients being released from either a hospital to a nursing home or to another hospital for additional specialty care services. “While the department has received an increasing number of requests to provide non-emergency transports in Fond du Lac County, we have unfortunately had to turn down those requests in the past,” said Eric Butler, assistant fire chief. “With this new service, we will enhance the healthcare experience for patients by decreasing the wait time for transport, as well as opening up more hospital beds for new admissions.”
