The town of Minocqua's fire department expansion committee approved Friday a recommendation to the Minocqua Town Board to accept the bid of just over $2.4 million from Boson Company in Marshfield to construct a new fire station. Minocqua town electors voted in October to build the fire station, which will be next to the Minocqua Area Chamber of Commerce on Minocqua's south side, for no more than $3.4 million. The Boson bid, at $2,455,500, was the lowest of eight received for the project.
