The need for a larger fire station in Wheatland was discussed at the Town Board meeting Monday in an effort to begin long-range facility planning. “We have outgrown the existing building,” Fire Chief Lou Denko said. Denko said the station houses five trucks and the all-terrain vehicle used to fight grass fires. Space is so tight that the vehicles must be parked one in front of the other. One truck must be pulled out of the building in order for the fire department to hold a meeting of its members, Denko said.
