When firefighters head to a fire, they need to park the red truck before it can spray water. Merrill Fire Department's newest truck can drive and fight fire at the same time. The fire department's new brush truck will be in service soon. It has been 20 years since they've had a new one. Firefighters can fight brush fires using a joystick system, much like the ones used for video games. "They can go right on the edge of a fire and it puts out about six gallons of water a minute per head, and it'll extinguish fire," said Chief Dave Savone.
