It was a busy Sunday for the Mauston Fire Department as the volunteer service responded to three calls on March 12, including a house fire. A fire reported at W3728 Partridge Lane totaled the second story of a home owned by Keyslyna Iwanska. The first floor suffered heavy smoke and water damage. Mauston Fire Chief Kim Hale said Iwanska and a pet escaped the fire without any injuries and some possessions were recovered. “That was kind of a tough one to battle because it was in the attic and when it’s billowing smoke it’s kind of hard,” Hale said.
