“I was upstairs and all of a sudden, my mom came running up the steps and all she could really say was, ‘there’s something wrong with dad,’” Poynette resident Josh Zaring said, recollecting the beginning of an incident involving his father in late February – a life-or-death scenario that Zaring said could happen to anyone.
It was a Monday evening at Zaring’s home in Poynette and his mother and father, Kris and Bruce Zaring, were downstairs watching television. Suddenly, Bruce collapsed.
“He just felt over, laying halfway off the bed,” Kris Zaring recalled. “I looked at him and I knew it was something I couldn’t handle by myself, so I went and got Josh.”
Bruce Zaring had suffered from cardiac arrest and was unresponsive when Zaring arrived downstairs.
