Three candidates are expected to interview for the Altoona fire chief position. This will be the community's first, full-time fire chief. Right now, Jesse James serves as both the police and the fire chief. President of the Altoona Police and Fire Commission Michael Wall said there were nine applicants for the position. The three candidates selected to interview for the job are from Wisconsin, Minnesota, and New Mexico. The interviews are scheduled for Wednesday, April 5th.
