The Holmen Area Fire Department gave residents in the fire district a chance May 6 to see the improvements the emergency service has made in recent years during it’s first Family Fun Day event. “We’re trained, equipped and proud,” said Mike Durkin, HAFD firefighter and organizer of the event. The department decided to hold the event in lieu of its annual dance fundraiser. “We wanted to do so something more family-oriented,” said Durkin. “We wanted an opportunity to get the equipment out (to show to the community) and to generate continued support.”
