The Marshall Area EMS has done an about-face on a potential merger with the Cambridge EMS and Deer-Grove EMS. At a meeting May 18 of a three-way committee that has been eyeing a merger, Marshall Area EMS Director Scott Allain and Marshall EMS Commission member Dave Lenius reported that Marshall was stepping away from the process. The meeting was held at the Deer-Grove EMS station in Cottage Grove. The reaction of merger committee members from Cottage Grove, Deerfield and Cambridge, was one of surprise and reproach.
