Firefighters from the Milwaukee Fire Department rescued eight dogs from a burning house on Milwaukee’s north side Tuesday night. Two other dogs, however, died, overcome by smoke from the fire. The fire was reported around 9:50 PM in a one-and-a-half story home at N. 102nd Street and W Vera Avenue. Firefighters put the fire out within 10 minutes but spent an additional amount of time looking through the home for the family’s pets. Firefighters were able to rescue eight of the ten animals and revived three of them on scene.
