A drone and two search and rescue boats were deployed Tuesday along the Chippewa River in a search for a man missing since Saturday night, although police aren’t certain he entered the water. Brenden K. Felton, 25, was last seen Saturday evening in downtown Eau Claire, walking north on First Avenue from Lake Street, police Detective Lt. Derek Thomas said. “We have no evidence to suggest he went into the water,” Thomas said. “We’re just trying to cover our bases.” Still, Thomas said it’s suspicious that Felton’s phone is off, goes straight to voice mail when called and has no recorded activity since 10:28 p.m. Saturday.
