Two boys were rescued Sunday night after their boat sank in the Navarino Wildlife Area. At 5:15 p.m., the Shawano County Sheriff's Department was notified that two boys were knee deep in the water, according to the department. The boys were able to call 911 and used a flashlight to show their position in the water. The boat had a leak and sunk, but the two boys were able to stand on the submerged boat until firefighters and first responders were able to reach them by rowboat. The department did not release the boys' ages or hometowns and did not say whether they were related.
