VIDEO: Janesville Fire Chief Randy Banker has added a new job to his resume: Milton fire chief. Banker has been the Janesville chief since the beginning of 2016 and took over the Milton position on Oct. 1. “What we’re trying to do is reduce cost if we can,” Banker said. “We’re trying to reduce redundancy.” While Janesville has a staff of 94 full-time firefighters, Banker said, Milton is a part-time department that was struggling to afford a full-time chief. When the former Milton fire chief retired in 2016, the department approached Janesville with an offer to work together.
