A fire station on Appleton's northeast side will close for repairs on Thursday. The Appleton Fire Department says a sturctural engineer determined that the apparatus floor of Fire Station #4, 724 E. Greenfield St., needs to be repaired. While the repairs are done, the station will be closed for 8-10 weeks. During that time, the engine company normally housed at the station will be moved to Station #6 on Lightning Drive. Firefighters housed at that station, along with Station #1 Drew Street, will cover Station #4's area. GPS will help the nearest crew respond to any call.
Those who need non-emergency help, such as appliance tags or permit applications, should visit Station #1.
