VIDEO: The wildfires currently ripping through California serve as a painful reminder that it can happen anywhere, anytime. Wednesday, the Wisconsin DNR forestry wildlife firefighters held a training session at Black River State Forest for a potential wildfire. The state forest is nearly 70,000 acres big and has the potential to catch fire, much like California. "It's really critical for us and for what we do here in the state of Wisconsin to be prepared and to be able to protect the citizens of the state of Wisconsin. The Black River Falls and the central sands is a high risk fire landscape so we need to be prepared for when the day comes, so we're always training, always trying to be prepared," said Black River Falls Area Forestry Leader Greg Mitchell.
