A fund has been established to help a multi-generational family of six who was displaced Monday when a fire destroyed their home at 4611 18th Ave. Karen and Michael Scofield owned the home they shared with their daughter Stephanie, son-in-law Jared Hunt, and grandchildren Tyler, 5, and Avery, 1. Karen said the family’s most immediate needs — clothing, school supplies and temporary shelter — have been met. “The firefighters gave us a gift certificate, and we were able to buy (Tyler) some school supplies,” Karen said of the assistance provided to families through the Kenosha Firefighters Community Assistance Response Effort.
