VIDEO: Firefighters battled a blaze Monday night at a nonprofit-owned home under renovation on the city's east side. The Oshkosh Fire Department responded about 7:30 p.m. to a report of a smoldering roof at 561 Bowen St. Authorities blocked off Bowen Street for at least an hour, as fire crews remained at the scene. Firefighters found smoke coming out of the back of the house and a small fire in the attic above the kitchen, Battalion Chief Dan Mrochek said. They were able to put out the fire within about 10 minutes.
