Gov. Scott Walker ordered Thursday that all flags be flown at half-staff Friday in honor of Madison firefighter and paramedic Richard Garner. Garner, 29, collapsed suddenly Sunday morning shortly after completing his shift. He joined the Madison Fire Department in 2012, and served as a firefighter and EMT at station 5 until moving to station 10 and becoming a paramedic in 2017. A memorial service in Madison is planned for Friday.
