One person was killed when an early-morning fire engulfed a trailer home in the Town of Fairbanks, the Shawano County Sheriff's Department said Monday. The fire broke out about 4:45 a.m. Sunday at W15398 on County Highway M, Detective Sgt. Gordon Kowaleski said in a statement. The Tigerton Fire Department responded to the scene, where firefighters found the body of the person who apparently lived in the home, Kowaleski said. Neither the sex nor age of the person was released. The Wisconsin State Fire Marshal's Office was called to the scene to investigate, and an autopsy is being conducted on the victim.
