A police officer suffered a burned hand while investigating arson fires at a Milwaukee apartment complex. Authorities say police were investigating a small fire early Sunday connected to a domestic violence dispute when another, larger fire was started in the building. The building was evacuated, and many of the apartments are temporarily uninhabitable. The Red Cross is helping the families. A suspect in the fires was taken into custody. Formal charges were pending. One officer suffered what was described as a minor first-degree burn to the right hand. The 32-year-old officer was treated and was expected to return to full duty. No one else was hurt.
