A UW-Madison student suffered burns Sunday afternoon when her shirt caught fire while she was boiling water in a dormitory kitchen. The incident happened around 5:25 p.m. in the Tripp Residence Hall, 1510 Tripp Circle, part of the lakeshore group of dormitories on campus. The Madison Fire Department said the student had been boiling water on an electric stove in a small kitchen in the basement of the dormitory. "She explained that the bottom flap of her flannel shirt must have come in contact with the electric coil of the stove," said fire department spokeswoman Cynthia Schuster.
