Sauk Prairie’s first responders often work together in times of crisis. But on June 9, Sauk Prairie Police, Sauk Prairie Ambulance, Prairie du Sac Fire and Sauk City Fire will join forces in a first of its kind chicken wings competition. The brainchild of Cody Wood, owner of Wood BBQ in Sauk City, the Community Wings event will serve as a fundraiser for all four community responder groups. “I saw an opportunity with Madison Magazine leaving and not coming back,” Wood said of the former barbecue festival. “Our first responders are a big part of our community, so I began asking, could we do something together?”
