A structure fire stemming from a pickup truck caused $50,000 in damages Wednesday afternoon. The source of the fire was found to be a pickup truck inside the shed at Malterer's Landscape and Lawn Care. The fire was filling the eaves and ridge vent of the building with black smoke just before 2:30 p.m., according to the Janesville Fire Department. The fire was quickly extinguished and the structure was ventilated. The interior of the building received heat and smoke damage. The pickup truck was determined to be a total loss, contents of the shed were several snow blowers, snow plows, and lawn mowers as well as a skid loader, most of which received little or no damage.
