A Pulaski man was sentenced to nine months in jail for starting a fire four years ago that destroyed a shed and ATV at his former girlfriend’s residence in the town of Stiles. Casey Messenger, 29, is serving the time as a condition of four years probation granted by Judge Michael T. Judge. ‘It’s time for (the victim) to get some relief from what she has lost,” Judge said, referring to the long delay between the incident and the filing of charges. Messenger was sentenced Feb. 2, but restitution was not set until a hearing on April 11, where he agreed to pay $13,831 restitution, which with state and local surcharges totals $15,974.
