Fire officials Wednesday were investigating the cause of fire in the garage of a residence. Crews from the City of Burlington Fire Department, Town of Burlington Fire Department, Burlington Rescue Squad and the City of Burlington Police Department were dispatched at approximately 8:05 a.m. to a report of a structure fire at 373 W. Chestnut St. Crews were on the scene within minutes and found smoke showing from the attached garage of the residence, according to city Fire Chief Alan Babe. Fire crews advanced inside the garage where they found the base of the fire and worked to extinguish the blaze. Fire service personnel remained on the scene to check for fire extension and conduct overhaul operations.
