A fire broke out early Wednesday at an apartment complex on the east side of Green Bay. The apartment is located at 1444 Smith Street and the fire broke out around 5:50 a.m. 10 people were taken to the hospital. Most of them suffered smoke inhalation. There are were working smoke detectors in the building. "The one point I definitely want to make today is that there were working smoke detectors in this building and I guarantee you that today those working smoke detectors definitely saved some lives," said Assistant Fire Chief, Rob Goplin.
