A firefighter who was critically hurt after being hit by a vehicle while on the job is back to full duty. Joe Sabol returned to duty with the Delton Fire Department Wednesday, according to a Facebook post from the department. The post reads, "Please join us in congratulating Joe Sabol on returning to full duty and also his promotion to Lieutenant." The fire department says Sabol was in the promotional process earlier this year but was critically injured February 3 when a motorist struck him. Sabol was responding to an earlier traffic crash. The fire department says Sabol has finished "countless hours of rehab" on his journey to recovery. They're also reminding drivers about the importance of moving over and slowing down when approaching emergency and utility vehicles.
