Authorities are investigating the cause of a barn fire this week that killed at least nine horses in southeastern Wisconsin. According to the Caledonia Fire Department, firefighters responded to the blaze on a small farm near Franksville on Monday evening. When crews arrived on scene, a person was trying to rescue the animals that were trapped inside the structure. In addition to the horses that perished, which included one that had to be euthanized, two other miniature horses were not located. Authorities say the fire is not considered suspicious in nature.
