Firefighters at the New Lisbon Fire Department has a new tool at their disposal. “Wabash bought us a new set of confined space equipment,” said New Lisbon Fire Chief Lynn Willard. “It’s a cart that’s got two one hour bottles on it and two SCBA masks with 100 feet of hose for each one.” The New Lisbon Fire Department also now has a small air tank they can use to establish an air supply to an individual in need of rescue. The new equipment will be used by the New Lisbon Fire Department but will also be available for mutual aid in emergencies throughout the region. “It can be taken to Elroy, it can be taken to Mauston,” Willard said. The equipment was purchased after a $11,521 donation from Wabash National, which is affiliated with Walker Stainless Equipment in New Lisbon.
