Cambridge emergency officials are warning people to stay out of Koshkonong Creek after a high-water-related near-tragedy Thursday. Cambridge Fire Chief Terry Johnson said a canoe containing two children and an adult capsized about 4:30 p.m. Thursday in CamRock County Park, near the juncture of County Hwy. B and Delemma Road between Rockdale and Cambridge. He said the children were able to cling to the overturned canoe, but the adult was swept downstream and out of site. Johnson said the adult was able to grab onto a tree for a time but was swept downstream again before rounding a bend and the current carried him into the bank. He was then able to climb ashore. Johnson said Cambridge EMS, Deer-Grove EMS and the Cambridge Fire Department responded to the scene. In the end, no one was hurt. “Everybody was fine,” Johnson said.
