The Sun Prairie High School football team went all out to celebrate first responders and honor fallen firefighter Captain Cory Barr. Players wore special jerseys spelling out Sun Prairie strong on the back. The team auctioned 20 of those jerseys with proceeds going to the Sun Prairie disaster relief. Four specially framed jerseys were given to the four first responders hurt in the explosion. Included in that group was Captain Barr's widow. Lt. Kevin Konopacki of the Sun Prairie Fire Department and Assistant Coach said the game was therapeutic for the community. "What a fantastic way for the community to come forward you know Friday night at the pit is a community event to begin with and you add this and it is just a special night. and this is going to offer some healing and moving forward from what happened," Konopacki said. Admission was free, fans could choose to donate to the Sun Prairie Disaster Relief Fund.
